Job Description:
Fluor’s Material Handling Systems business unit, Virta, is seeking an Expediting – Logistic Specialist to join our team. Reporting to the Procurement Manager, this individual will be responsible for facilitating the timely delivery of materials, resources, and information to meet project deadlines. This role involves coordinating with various departments, suppliers, and contractors to expedite procurement, shipments, and work progress. The Project Expeditor – Logistics Specialist will ensure that all aspects of the supply chain are functioning efficiently to avoid project delays. This role will also be the liaison to coordinate shipments as necessary with Virta’s freight forwarder
• Monitor and expedite the flow of worldwide supply of mechanical and electrical materials, steel, and services to ensure project timelines are met
• Liaise with suppliers, contractors, and project teams to track order statuses and ensure timely deliveries
• Communicate and resolve issues related to procurement, production, and transportation delays
• Maintain and update tracking systems to provide real-time visibility of material delivery status
• Coordinate with procurement and engineering to ensure accurate documentation and compliance with project requirements
• Review purchase orders and shipping documentation to confirm accuracy and completeness
• Assist in troubleshooting issues that may arise during the procurement and delivery process
• Prepare regular reports on the status of deliveries, potential delays, and resolutions
• Ensure all project documentation is updated and accessible to relevant team members
• Support the project manager in maintaining overall project schedules by identifying and addressing potential bottlenecks
• Adhere to best practices to meet Import/Export and Fluor’s compliance
• Manage workloads for multiple projects simultaneously.
• Serves as a resource to the management team and procurement staff
• Assists sales and estimating staff in planning for required logistics support in proposals and contracts
• Coordinate domestic and international shipments
• Performs other duties as required
