SCOPE OF ACTIVITIES

This position performs work requiring advanced knowledge which is predominantly intellectual in character and which routinely exercises discretion and judgment. The advanced knowledge is in a field of science or learning and gained through a prolonged course of specialized intellectual instruction, experience, and expertise acquired in the field.

For our Skouries Project in Greece we are looking for an Area Engineer to join our team.

In this position you will support the construction efforts by providing technical support to craft and third parties, supervision as well as helping to satisfy Quality requirements on the project. Initiate action when necessary to ensure the project is being built as specified in the scope of work and approved design. Also, provide the essential project support, including but not limited to, the points listed below.

PRINCIPAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Supervision of other Field Engineers

• Remain knowledgeable of requirements for applicable codes and standards on the project

• Receive and distribute project design documents

• Manage site survey and direct daily activities

• Assist craftsmen, foremen, and project supervision with regard to construction-related issues identified or drawings

• Perform surveillance/examinations, if required, to ensure that the Quality objectives are being met for the project

• Actively participate in knowledge sharing

• Perform constructability assignments

• Review of Contractor’s documentation

• Help coordinate system completion and system turnover with regard to start up activities for assigned systems, if required

• Provide technical interpretation of design documents in support of construction managers, superintendents, and contractors and provides specific expertise for problem solving activities

• Prepare material take-offs, scope of work and design packages, as well as initiate and prepare requisitions for the procurement of services, materials, and equipment from the construction site

• Develop, implement and manage program for timely and effective resolution of RFIs (Request for Information) raised in the field. Ensure RFIs are replied in a concise and clear manner, with consideration to contractual requirements of the requesting party.

• Provide guidance to, as well as training and development of, field engineering personnel

• Monitor the performance of other project field engineers against specific expectations

• Establish and maintain effective communication between the construction site and the design office(s) to ensure the timely flow of design documents and information

• Coordinate the preparation of the field engineering section of the Construction

• Provide field engineering input to the Project Completion Report

• Provide technical evaluation of site bid proposals

• Coordinate the preparation and revision of technical work procedures consistent with project design and construction requirements

• Implement and coordinate drawing red-line procedure for the preparation of as-built drawings in accordance with project requirements

• Analyse and make independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying complexity in accordance with organization and/or project objectives and guidelines

• Organize and prioritize a variety of projects and multiple tasks in an effective and timely manner, set priorities, and meet deadlines

• Plan and organize own work assignments, as well as carry out tasks from management staff

• Maintain compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and global standards

• Adhere to and support Fluor's Health, Safety & Environmental and Sustainability Policies

• Effectively develop and apply the Core Skills to the job

• May need to travel to attend to business related matters

• Meet expectations on attendance and punctuality

• Other duties as assigned
