Fluor seeks a Discipline Application Specialist / Data Base Specialist. The candidate will provide the essential administrative processes, technical knowledge, and direction. They will be assigned projects and be required to perform engineering assignments of high complexity and act as a representative to the department ensuring technical accuracy in project execution in all phases. This role has the responsibility to promote Fluor’s competitiveness within the global marketplace by delivering quality services of unmatched value and technical competence.
To enable us to meet challenging new markets and existing client demands, we are now concentrating on expanding our existing Piping team in Farnborough. The opportunities we have are long term and offer great career development. Requirements for the role include, but are not limited to, those listed below:
Discipline Application Specialist / Data Base Specialist
Responsible for CAD set-up and support for the Piping discipline
Excellent knowledge of Intergraph S3D
Additional knowledge of the AVEVA E3D tools is also beneficial
Have excellent working knowledge of 20 CAD applications (AutoCAD and MicroStation)
Point of contact for any piping specific S3D issues and concerns
Support to S3D project Coordinator activities to setup and configuration of the S3D project environment.
Configure, customise, update and manage Intergraph S3D tools to meet project requirement:
o Equipment and Piping reference data
o Pipe Supports (C++)
o Clash Manager
o Orthographic drawings
Manage and update project to meet RFIC requirements
Provide training and continuous learning to users
Communicate with Global Application Specialist providing feedback to the governance team.
Update Designers on latest S3D procedures and practices through project bulletins and/or meetings.
Provide S3D training and continuous learning to users
Perform S3D project audits
Model equipment and piping in S3D
Good understanding of Piping component size, weight and centre-of-gravity
Communicate, verbally and in written form, in a professional manner
Provide Performance Appraisal input
Participate in general piping department training programs/seminars and on-line training
Good understanding of industry codes and standards
Become familiar with Fluor:
o Knowledge Online Community
o Standards and procedures and Work Practices
o Culture to facilitate development of leadership skills.
