The Supply Chain Department plays a key role in project execution by developing overall supply chain strategies to ensure project schedule and costs are optimised. Part of Fluor’s Supply Chain Material Management Department, Procurement is responsible for helping to improve Fluor’s overall business through world-class supply chain and material management systems, capabilities, and processes.
Under direct supervision by Procurement Specialists, the purpose of this position is to perform the essential job duties and functions listed below with the objective of helping to improve the Corporation’s overall business performance, deliver added value to our shareholders, and promote consistent and cost effective solutions across Business Units, projects and locations.
Primary Job Duties/Functions
Maintains material management logs and inputs material management commitment-related information into relevant company databases.
Performs basic purchasing activities and assists in performing administrative and fundamental procurement assignments, reports, material shipment tracking and expediting activities with vendors.
Assists the Material Management or Procurement team with the procurement of engineered equipment, materials and supplies within established Material Management Plans, policies and procedures.
Interfaces with Supplier Quality Surveillance (SQS) and Logistics as necessary on assigned Requests for Quotations (RFQ) or Purchase Order (PO) packages.
Establishes, maintains and manages communications with suppliers, client representatives, project staff and corporate supervision utilising the available tools.
Assists other material management personnel, as required.
Takes on Portfolio assignments as needed.
Other related duties/functions as assigned.
Work is generally based in our office in Farnborough. However, there may be opportunities to travel and work at one of our global offices or project sites.
