Fluor is establishing a design team in Farnborough to serve Europe, Africa and Middle East clients, ensuring Fluor’s growth, stability and sustainability.
As a result, we are recruiting for an experienced Building Services/HVAC individual to provide discipline leadership and specialist knowledge in engineering and design. The successful candidate will additionally provide Engineering Management support to the procurement, subcontracting, construction, commissioning and validation specialists within Fluor’s projects in the EAME region. We wish to gain the benefits of the previous experience of the successful candidate in shaping this new role to the long term benefit of Fluor. It is therefore critical that the candidate is willing and able to provide their knowledge, experience and opinions in a coherent and professional manner to help optimise the role and the benefits it will bring to Fluor.
Based in Farnborough, Hampshire, UK, the role may require travel to other locations as required including project sites, other Fluor offices and client offices/sites.
There is the potential for this role to develop and extend into one of technical leadership for Building Services/HVAC engineering and design across the region.
Technical Leadership for HVAC/Building Services Engineering and Design for facilities – The successful candidate will have lead engineer/supervisory responsibility for all HVAC/ Building Services specification, engineering and design on Fluor UK projects including planning and execution of the work. He or she will form part of the UK mechanical core team.
Technical Quality – Will undertake technical reviews to ensure that technical and regulatory requirements are met.
Business Development – Provide technical support to the sales team as required in pursuit of opportunities. Maintain key Client relationships in support of business development and pursuit of new work.
Training – Identify company personnel skill/experience gaps and delivers or recommends specific training and where necessary, recommend recruitment to resolve/fill those gaps.
The successful candidate will have extensive experience of all aspects of Building Services/ HVAC engineering and design in related highly regulated industries.
They will be intimately familiar with the layout, design and specification of systems and equipment for such environments.
Their experience will cover the design and engineering of related utilities and will have encompassed facility commissioning and qualification.
They will have excellent knowledge of the application and implementation of all relevant UK and European codes, standards and directives.
They will have been technical lead for large projects involving multiple process units with a significant degree of complexity.
They will have sound experience of specialist HVAC/Building Services sub-contractor contract scope definition.
Provide leadership and mentoring in the development of the staff under their control, establishing and implementing individual development plans and conducting one to one feedback sessions.
