Job Description:
Due to the recent award of a number of major, world-class projects, Fluor is now in an exciting period of significant growth, and as such we are now keen to speak with mechanical design engineers with specific skills in Pressure Vessels and Storage Tanks (Static Equipment), to fill immediate staffing requirements based here in our new, purpose built, UK headquarters in Farnborough.
The postholder will be expected to have the following qualifications and be responsible for the following activities:
Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Engineering (Preferably Chartered);
To demonstrate a strong HSE behavior and to ensure the effective implementation of the Company and Project HSE policies;
Extensive relevant experience in the EPC industry supporting Oil, Gas, Petrochemical and Renewable Energies facilities;
Familiarity with European Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) is desirable but not essential;
Designing, specifying, and reviewing Static Equipment including Pressure Vessels, Columns, Reactors, Filters, Storage Tanks, Heat Exchangers, etc;
Preparing and checking design calculations and drawings; preparing equipment datasheets, technical specifications and requisitions; carrying out technical bid evaluations and reviewing vendor documents as related to Static Equipment;
Ability to perform necessary follow ups and close out of tasks to ensure their work is consistent with other disciplines;
*Ability to communicate in English language.
In addition the candidate is expected to possess good knowledge of major industry Codes and Standards prevalent in Oil & Gas, Petrochemicals, Renewable Energies & other associated industries, (e.g., ASME, API, EN etc.) as applicable to Static Equipment, as well as familiarity with software for mechanical design calculations (COMPRESS, Nozzle Pro, FE Pipe or others).
Additional duties include assisting in the development of department standards and procedures.
The candidate should be capable of serving as lead on assigned projects or complex engineering assignments. This role would include performing the following: organise/plan jobs, support proposal and estimate activities, write/review specifications including design criteria, prepare/maintain schedules, develop/monitor estimates and manpower forecasts, assign work, work with project/client/field, material procurement, permit, and subcontract activities.
