Fluor Material Control Engineer in Hoofddorp, Netherlands
Piping Material Controller
The Right Materials at the Right Time and the Right Place
IS THIS YOU?
Working in a multi-cultural environment is nothing new for you and you are experienced in working in a multi-office type of execution, where you travel as needed to other locations globally (Fluor, partners, vendors or client) in order to add to the successful project completion. Having to liaison with multiple parties on the project, you are an excellent communicator and are highly proficient in written and oral communication.
You have worked as a Piping Material Controller for at least 7 years on multiple projects in the oil & gas, petrochemical or power industry. In those years, you have developed in-depth knowledge of piping materials and understanding of material quantity control, material contingencies, logistics analyses, and material management functions.
As Piping Material Controller, you will be working directly under the Piping Lead Engineer and directly with the other piping sub-disciplines such as Piping Design and Piping Materials Engineering. You are responsible for coordinating the material take-off (MTO) effort on the project, in which you will receive the MTO data from Piping Design, Underground Engineering and Piping Materials Engineering. You are able to create MTOs from engineering drawings such as P&IDs, piping isometrics and plan drawings and you will enter the MTOs into the material management system.
Quantity control is one of your major tasks: you are responsible for monitoring the piping quantities during the project, analyzing and reporting the key material budget, engineering forecast and current design quantities during detailed engineering.
Procurement is one of your main internal clients for which you will prepare requisitions for piping bulk materials and specialty items. Together with procurement and scheduling, you will determine the required-at-site (RAS) dates for materials to ensure all materials are available at the right time at the right place.
