Fluor Wildlife Monitor in Kitimat, British Columbia
The scope and role of the wildlife monitor would be to implement health, safety and environmental policies, procedures and guidelines for the employees and department safety pertaining to human wildlife conflict management as well as overall wildlife monitoring.
Create procedures, incident reports and perform inspections to ensure conformity in inspecting work areas for signs of wildlife in the area through routine patrolling, providing direction to and oversee work tasks in wildlife sensitive areas. Track wildlife sightings and report on observations.
Accompany crews working in remote and undisturbed areas of the project. Provide guidance and instruction to work crews before activities and when wildlife encountered on work site.
Participate in pre-disturbance assessments (wildlife, rare plants, archaeological resources)
Develop and maintain a risk-based approach for field work and wildlife encounters (seasonal and location based risk ratings).
Participate in wildlife siting program
