Job Description Summary
Performs or assists with installation, maintenance, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and/or repair on electrical systems including low-voltage circuits (up to 600 volts), motors, motor control centers (MCC), lighting systems, and other duties as assigned. Two positions are available with the following work schedules: Monday – Thursday, 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., or Tuesday – Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Ensure the appropriate safe work practices are followed, specifically electrical safety
Know and follow proper NFPA70E PPE requirements for electrical work
Understand and follow proper LOTO procedures
Know, understand and follow all Fluor and client safety standards
Read and understand electrical wiring diagrams
Under general supervision installs, tests, adjusts, maintains, repairs and operates low voltage electrical circuit equipment and systems below 600 volts for optimum efficiency such as electric/electronic controls, electric motors and AC/DC circuits and switches. Determines general condition of equipment, nature of possible malfunctions and extent of needed repairs
Basic understanding of motor applications (3 phase or 1 phase), maintenance and troubleshooting techniques
Basic understanding of motor maintenance (Meggar test, fuse selection, overload selection), as well as troubleshooting techniques
Lighting system installation and repair including ballast and lamp replacement
Perform troubleshooting on electrical/ mechanical equipment
Performs other general electrical and maintenance related duties as assigned
Education & Experience
Education: high school diploma or equivalent
Valid Kentucky driver’s license
2+ years in electrical construction, installation and repair
Journeyman or Master Electrical license required (or be actively enrolled in a program to achieve)
Ability to climb ladders, work from heights, and lift & carry at least 40 pounds
Skills
Good Analytical troubleshooting skills required
Ability to work successfully in team environment
Must work well with others
Must be able to work with minimal supervision
