Fluor Plant Engineering office is part of the E&C Energy Solutions Sustaining Capital Projects Business Line.
We are looking for a Control Systems Engineer to support our regional team (Spain) in Tarragona Home Office.
This position supports the E&I department on assigned projects through the following Key Responsibilities:
• Perform and check calculations for simple equipment, and solve problems of basic to moderate engineering complexity
• Review vendor equipment documentation within the discipline and from other disciplines for compliance with project requirements, and actively seek discrepancy resolution
• Develop estimates, schedules, progress reports, and key quantity tracking reports
• Identify deviations in job scope, estimate magnitude of changes, and initiate trends or change orders
• Support estimate activities
• Interface with project disciplines and client representatives
• Develop and build client relations promoting Client Service Excellence
• Participate in activities associated with equipment and material procurement, permitting, and subcontracting
• Assist in the review of vendor lists, preparation of quotation requests, bid tabulations, purchase orders, and considerations for substitutions for technical acceptability
• Analyze and make independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying complexity in accordance with organization and/or project objectives and guidelines
• Organize and prioritize a variety of projects and multiple tasks in an effective and timely manner, set priorities, and meet deadlines
• Plan and organize own work assignments, as well as carry out tasks from management staff
• Prepare/review scopes of work for third party contracts
• Perform control systems sizing calculations for control valves, relief valves, flow elements, thermowells and other instrumentation
• Create instrument index, datasheets and generate reports in Intergraph SmartPlant Instrumentation database
• Develop control systems narrative specifications
• Acquire basic knowledge to develop control systems logic diagrams and/or cause and effect diagrams
• Develop control systems estimates and report on control systems progress
• Develop specifications and design of Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) hardware and software applications and implementation in software configuration
