Fluor Movement Control Specialist II in Afghanistan
Plans and organizes air transportation activities. Plans, schedules and processes eligible air cargo, to include rolling stock. Supervises use of materials handling equipment and cargo loading and unloading operations. Must possess general knowledge of weighing marking and processing rolling stock cargo for air shipment; appropriate Air Force Instructions and Army Manuals as it relates to proper air shipments. Candidate must be able to multi-task. May be required to perform other job related tasks and duties as mission dictates. Knowledge of TCN’s (Transportation Control Numbers) and RFID Tags for cargo tracking purposes is a plus. Familiar with the use of a variety of ITV systems such at GATES and TC_AIMS a plus. Also, experience in functions such as loading and unloading aircraft; operating automated or manual materials handling and other loading equipment; or processing, scheduling, and maintaining records relating to passenger and cargo movement.
The Specialist must be capable of working independent in lieu of specific instructions to accomplish mission and enforce the importance of safety at all times. Applicant must have a clear understanding of tracking and tracing systems which will enhance ones capabilities of In-Transit Visibility of all properly shipped cargo flights throughout the AOR (Area of Responsibility). Working knowledge of JMRs, AMRs, and the ITARS system a plus. Candidate must possess a high level of proficiency in numerous Microsoft applications such as; Word, Excel, and Power Point, along with excellent telephonic communication skills while maintaining COMSEC (Communication Security), OPSEC (Operation Security), and COMPUSEC (Computer Security). Position requires an individual who is customer oriented and has the ability to work thru difficult situations while providing superb customer support. Individual will be constant direct contact with military client on a daily basis and must understand DOD movement’s terminology. Must perform other job related tasks and duties as mission dictates.
Provides specialized functional services within Movement Control operations as assigned, including ground transportation missions and/or air transportation in theater. May be assigned to a camp passenger terminal for fixed wing or rotary aircraft and responsible for daily operations. Responsible for preparation and maintenance of movement logs, passenger manifests, cargo movement logs, and daily mission logs. Coordinates activities with military personnel and passes along pertinent information regarding flight rules and regulations to both the internal and external customer. Assists military personnel in scheduling of flights and manifesting of employees. Performs basic maintenance and stocking function at a passenger terminal to ensure customers’ needs are met. Disseminates information regarding flight schedules, routes, delays, safety requirements, personal baggage limitations, and facilities for customers. Ensures passengers are clear to fly, performs roll call, and escorts passengers to and from aircraft as necessary. May be assigned to ground transportation coordination for line haul, tanker, flatbed, HAZMAT, and triple/double missions. Responsible for preparation and maintenance of movement logs, cargo movement logs, and daily mission logs. Coordinates activities with military escort personnel and passes along pertinent information regarding safety and security rules and regulations. Assists military personnel in scheduling of missions. Performs basic maintenance and stocking functions at truck yards and checkpoints to ensure customers’ needs are met. Disseminates information regarding schedules, routes, delays, safety requirements, and facilities for customers.
