Fluor Welder/Structure Journeyman II in Afghanistan

Job Description:

Read Blue prints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures.Performs metal fabrication and machining of parts to be welded or bolted as assigned. Parts are repaired or fabricated utilizing manual lathes , manual drill presses , and manual mills with digital calipers mounted. Parts to be repaired or fabricated are made of carbon steel , stainless steel , all cast materials and alloys . Selects equipment and plans layout, assembly, and if welding required assist in set up, applying knowledge of geometry, physical properties of metal machining weld shrinkage, and specialized techniques. Positions, aligns, and fits components together , Bolts and clamps parts to secure in position for welding. May assemble parts by bolting and riveting. May repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts, using cutting torch, straightening press, and hand tools. machine tools , calipers, micrometers, scales and other measuring devices . May provide guidance to less experienced personnel as assigned. Follows safe work practices and maintains a clean, safe work area at all times.
