Job Description:

Performs metal fabrication and welding work as assigned. Lays out, fits, and welds fabricated, cast, and forged components to assemble structural forms, such as tanks, pressure vessels, furnace shells, clamshells, and building and equipment parts. Selects equipment and plans layout, assembly, and welding, applying knowledge of geometry, physical properties of metal machining weld shrinkage, and welding techniques. Positions, aligns, and fits components together. Bolts, clamps, and tack-welds parts to secure in position for welding. Sets up equipment and welds parts, using arc, gas-shielded arc, submerged arc, or gas welding equipment. May assemble parts by bolting and riveting. May repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts, using cutting torch, straightening press, and hand tools. May provide guidance to less experienced personnel as assigned. Follows safe work practices and maintains a clean, safe work area at all times.

Manages Non-Tactical Vehicle (NTV) maintenance operations and personnel within assigned AOR, typically at the Country, Deputy Country or similar level. Manages ongoing operational effectiveness; coordinates operations with other groups, personnel and internal client; directs operational planning and ensures the availability of skilled personnel and resources as needed to execute required services in an effective, efficient and timely manner. Manages all Fleet Maintenance (Construction Equipment, Light Motor Vehicles, Power Generation) activities via the Equipment Maintenance team to ensure quality, safety, productivity and equipment up time goals are met. Develops ECOD’s, monitors expenses, open work orders, and manages warranty claims and reimbursement. Monitors all equipment, vehicle and power generation service dispatching, monthly inventory cycle, and inventory reconciliation. Analyzes work practices to improve repair and service effectiveness. Assists in investigations regarding equipment performance and operator error when accidents or near misses occur. Analyzes reports to determine trends within the Service Departments, develops and implements improvement initiatives. Maintains and promotes good employee relations by consistently applying HR, Safety and Quality practices and ensuring that assigned personnel receive appropriate training and development.

Position may be located in a war zone in a contingency environment with harsh and dangerous working and living conditions, including lifting and carrying 40 pounds of personal protective equipment for extended periods of time. To ensure safety, health, and security measures within the contract are met, all employees shall be literate in English (read, write, speak and understand).

Will be required to obtain flight line driver's license to operate vehicles on and around the flight line.
