Fluor Survey Party Chief (NOC 2131) in Windsor, Ontario

Job Description:

The Survey Party Chief is responsible for managing a field crew and performing field survey work on an infrastructure construction project.

Job Duties:

  1. Setting out Surveys of tower foundations, underwater and above water pilings, concrete foundations, tower anchor boxes, deck segments and deck wedge plates.

  2. Topographic Surveys of utilities, existing ground, seawalls and other features impacting construction zones.

  3. Monitoring of tower form work, piers, deck segments, erection travelers, cable stay wedge plates.

  4. Placement of tower and bridge deck monitoring prisms and performing weekly monitoring of said prisms.

  5. Preparation of CAD drawings and reports as required in support of construction activities.

  6. Managing data flow from RFC design plans to field to as-built surveys to ultimate data storage.

  7. Determines and implements procedures for establishing or re-establishing survey control points and vertical bench marks during tower and deck construction.

  8. Plan, organize, and directs other surveyors engaged in tower/bridge deck surveys to ensure compliance with tolerances, and project standards.

  9. Keep accurate notes, records, and sketches to describe and certify work performed.

  10. Attend project and staff meetings as required to coordinate surveying requirements with project managers and site superintendents.

  11. Maintain all equipment in good working order and insuring that calibration certificates are current.

  12. Maintain survey vehicle and perform daily inspections as required.

  13. Mentor junior survey staff members in all phases of surveying as relating to tower and bridge construction.

  14. Maintain high awareness of safety concerns while on site and maintain current Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Safety Task Assignments (STA).

Salary: Yearly: Min CAD 135000 - Max CAD 145000 for 40 hours per week.
